Beginners Softball is for Kindergarten, First grade and Second grade players ages 5, 6 or 7. This is the next step up from Tee Ball for softball players. A fun atmosphere is maintained while working on skills. Players will work with professional trainers and participate in official games. No scores or standings are recorded. It is a fun instructional league with emphasis on continued skill development. Batters will hit against coaches pitching to them. Players will learn to hit a moving ball, assist in a putout at a base and play with most of the basic Little League Softball rules. Players should feel comfortable with a ball thrown or hit to them and be able to protect themselves with their glove. Sessions will be combined practices and games on Saturdays. There may be opportunities for an additional practice during the week and potentially games with other surrounding Little League teams on weekends (schedules and team availability pending).

·      Mandatory Coaches Clinic – March 9, 2024

·      Spring Cleanup Date – March 9, 2024 (rain date March 16)

·      Opening Week - April 2, 2024

·      Open House Festivities @ Ward – April 6, 2024 (rain date April 13)

·      End of Season and Awards Day - June 15, 2024
