7/17: WW Beats Robbinsville, 9-8 On Walkoff Double

 

7/17/2010:  West Windsor’s 6th inning 5 run rally tops Robbinsville

  • Starting pitchers Ben O’Brien (West Windsor) and Matt Spiegel (Robbinsville) went through 4 innings in a 1-1 Pitchers dual. Robbinsville capitalized on a few misplayed balls and a big double by Anthony Iorio to put 5 on the board in the 5th. West Windsor responded with one of Matt Phelan’s 2 hits, a 2 out base hit to drive in 2 in the bottom of the frame. Robbinsvile extended the lead to 8-4 in the top of the 6th. 
  • West Windsor mounts a 5 run rally in the bottom of the 6th capped by a walk off bases loaded double by Freddie Maresca.  Alex Mitchell came all the way around from 1st base to slide inside the tag for the winning run.  Josh Miller gets the win for West Windsor in relief. Anthony Iorio was the losing pitcher in relief for Robbinsville.

 

7/15/2010:  Ewing 16, WW 5

The 11 year old Warriors lost a tough game to perennial powerhouse Ewing Thursday night. The Warriors lost 16 to 5 in four innings of play.  The Warriors play again on Friday night at 8 PM on Ward field and again on Saturday at noon in Robbinsville. Please come out and support the team.

 

7/10/2010: WW 5, HTRBA 4

The WWLL 11 All-star Warriors started their 2010 tournament with a 5-4 win over HTRBA on Saturday. The game started in the morning however after one and half innings was rain delayed until 5 PM. Josh Miller pitched four complete innings in the victory striking out seven. Josh also drove in two runs to support the team offensively. Christopher St. Amour drove in two additional runs including a first-inning triple. Freddie Maresca drove in the fifth, and winning, run in the forth inning. Ben Perrine played catcher and made a key putout early in the game with a throw down to second base. Ben O’Brien finished the game at pitcher with the final two innings. Ben ended the game after five and half innings with an unassisted double play.

 
The Warriors are in a tough pool which also includes Robbinsville, Ewing and Sunnybrae. Their next game is Tuesday night, 8 PM, against Sunnybrae at Ward Field.
