Registration (Linda)
We are in good shape. We are in the final processing of ensuring receipt of birth certificates for all new players to the program.
Player Agent ( Jackie)
There is a new volunteer form that Jackie is handing out to all managers. The form must be filled out in order to be on the field or in the dugout. Jackie will let anyone know if they need a background check.
Baseball
The majors teams are all set. There are seven teams this season. It was reiterated that the majors is the most competitive league. All 12 year olds are in majors and they do take some 11’s and 10’s if they think the player will succeed. The managers at the tryout evaluate the boys and the results are tabulated by the coordinators. At the draft the managers use last year’s team evaluations plus this year’s workout /tryout evaluations and the overall tabulation when selecting who gets to play majors. It is not based on the half hour of the workout/tryout. If someone has any questions or concerns regarding the process or results they are to contact Jackie Stein.
Minors workout/tryouts are February 27. The date is on the website. AAA workouts are scheduled for March 6, 2010.
The February baseball clinics are full and everything is going well.
Softball (Jeff)
There are 4 teams in majors . This is up from last year which only had 3 teams. They are still finalizing managers and will be ready for draft in the beginning of March. There are 4 teams in minors which is down from last year which had 5 teams.
